ULID Generator
Generate sortable ULIDs and decode the timestamp from any existing ULID.
How to use
Generate ULIDs
Set how many identifiers you need and copy the list. Each ULID is 26 characters of Crockford base32.
- Set the number of ULIDs.
- Copy the generated list.
- Paste a ULID below to decode its timestamp.
Why ULID?
ULIDs sort by creation time, unlike random UUIDs, and use a compact base32 alphabet that avoids ambiguous letters.
Frequently asked questions
What is inside a ULID?
The first 10 characters encode a 48-bit millisecond timestamp and the remaining 16 characters are random.
Are ULIDs unique?
The 80 random bits make collisions extremely unlikely, especially when combined with the timestamp.
